Installation of "Socket Rugged 10/100 Ethernet Cards" on the mPower and PK The original Socket Low-Power Ethernet CF card is no longer freely available on the market, but a replacement card is available - the Socket Rugged 10/100 Ethernet CF card. However, to use this card with KeySoft Version 7.2 or earlier, you must first install the necessary driver software, which HumanWare has released as a separate software package. The package contains two files: 1. Install.exe, which allows new driver files for various cards to be installed. 2. Rugged.exe, which contains the drivers for this particular card. The first part will be incorporated in KeySoft at the earliest opportunity, but until then you will need to run this file before installing drivers for the very first time. You only need to run this file once - so if you install further sets of drivers for different cards, you don't have to run install.exe again. Don't worry if you accidentally run it again, it won't cause any problems. The second part contains the driver files for this specific card. When you run rugged.exe, the files are copied to your Flash Disk so you won't lose them if you perform a 4-5-6 or service reset, or let the unit run out of battery power. After these files are copied to the Flash Disk, they will be used after each reset - so you will need to reset after the installation for the card to start working. Important: Do not insert the card until instructed to do so. The unit must be always be switched off before the card is inserted. Installation Instructions: 1. Download the two files, install.exe and rugged.exe, from http://www.humanware.com/Resources/drivers.asp. There are separate versions of these files for the mPower and PK. Ensure you have the correct files for your machine. If downloading on the BrailleNote or VoiceNote, place the files in the root directory of the Flash Disk. If you're downloading the files using a PC, it may be simpler to copy the files to removable media, for example an SD or CF card or USB Flash drive, and then to put this in your unit and run them from that drive. Where the instructions below refer to the Flash Disk, instead use the particular drive with the two files on it. 2. Run installer.exe by proceeding as follows: a.
