Victor Reader Stream
Welcome to Victor Reader Stream! The full User Guide is built into the Stream and can be accessed anytime by pressing and holding key 1.
This Getting Started book is only a few minutes long. It will play automatically when you power on the Victor Reader Stream. If you no longer wish to hear this Getting Started book, you can remove this book by pressing key number 1 on the front face of the Stream. Key 1 is the Stream bookshelf key. After pressing key 1, press key 6 multiple times until you hear “Getting Started with Victor Reader Stream”. Then press key 3 to delete this book. The Stream will ask you to press Confirm to delete. The Confirm key is to the right of key 0 and marked with a pound sign.
To get started:
If you turn the player on with no SD card loaded, it will automatically activate its Key Describer feature. The Key Describer announces each key on the front face when you press it.
At the bottom rounded end of the player are 3 keys. The center rectangular key is the Play/Stop. On its left is the Rewind key and on its right is the Fast Forward key.
Above Play/Stop is an oval shaped key that sets the auto shutoff Sleep timer. When not in Key Describer mode, press it multiple times to select the amount of Sleep time.
Above the Sleep key is a raised horizontal line and above that, a telephone style numeric keypad.
Above the 1 key is the Goto Page key. It also serves as the Goto Heading and Goto Book key.
Above 3 is the Bookmark key. Pressing it multiple times rotates through the bookmark menu to insert, goto, browse, and delete bookmarks.
Above the 2 key is a power-on LED light indicator. This LED blinks when the Stream is powered off and recharging.
Above the LED on the top face are holes for the built-in speaker on the left and built-in microphone on the right.
· In the middle of the top edge is the slot for the SD memory card. See the User Guide for information on how to save books and files on the SD card.
· On the top edge left corner is a mini USB connector to connect the Stream to a PC using the long cable provided. A memory stick or USB book cartridge can also be connected to the player using the short cable provided.
· On the top edge right corner is the connector for the AC adapter.
· On the right side at the top is the headphones jack.
· Below it is an external microphone jack.
· Below that is a Record button. It has a raised dot and is located between two rough finger surfaces. See the User Guide for recording instructions.
You can try playing your first DAISY book by pressing and holding key 1. This will start playing the built-in User Guide which is a structured DAISY book. It will give complete information about using the player and setting up your books and files on an SD card.
Press the orange Play key now if you wish to replay this Getting Started guide.
